FAQ

These are Frequently Asked Questions from our The Bike Hub community. If you haven't found what you are looking for please email us at contact@thebikehub.ie or call us on 01 2641000 (Mon-Fri 11-5).

  • Does The Bike Hub accepts bike donations?
It depends! We have limited space and, as a small social enterprise, limited funds to repair the bikes we take in. For that reason we try to accept bikes that are in reasonable conditions and of good quality. But more important, we will check if bikes being offered will suit someone in our waiting list. So please send us a couple of photos of the bike to upcyclers@thebikehub.ie and we will let you know if it's a fit. Keep Cycling!
  • I need a bike. How can I get a bike from The Bike Hub?
We work with a number of organisation such as the irish Refugee Council, Focus Ireland, DEIS schools and others. You can ask them to contact us to add you to the waiting list. If you are not connected to any support organisation, you can drop us a note to upcyclers@thebikehub.ie All requests for bikes should include: - gender - whether and adult or, in the case of children, the age - height - expected use (long distance commuting, short distance to school, fun, sport, need to take in a train or bus, etc - where the person lives currently - contact details (phone number and email) - can the person come to one of our workshops to pick the bike up? - any other relevant information
  • Why does The Bike Hub do so much free stuff?
We are social enterprise and we aim to get as many people as possible on bikes. For people who can't afford a bike, we try to help them get one at no cost, or as little as possible. For people who live with physical or mental restrictions that stop them from enjoying "regular" bike rides, we have fleets of bikes that may help address this challenge. We're winning when we help people to try cycling out.
  • What are your plans for the future?
The Bike Hub was created from the start to expand and help promote cycling all over the country through the establishment of several hubs. We can do this through partnerships with local authorities, businesses, NGOs or through our own initiative. Want to know more? Get in touch: contact@thebikehub.ir or call us on (01) 2641000 (lines open Mon-Fri 11 - 5).
  • Can I get involved with The Bike Hub?
Most probably yes. There are many things that people can do, take a training course, volunteer, book a ride in our accessible fleet. Tell us more about your interests here
